So, I never though myself one to be "involved" in politics. In fact, when Amy and I first moved into our house we started going to our neighborhood meetings, however, once we got accustomed to the area we got busy and "didn't have time for it". That lasted a long while, and honestly, I felt so busy with everything else going on that involvement just didn't seem important. All that changed with lunch at Mimi's Cafe (that was some good salmon!). Our good friend Matt Thompson invited me to a republican networking lunch were I was introduced to a few state legislators and got to listen in on all sorts of going ons. Most exciting was Matt's own race for the Utah County Republican Party Secretary position... That was all it took, and now I'm hooked and excited to help get others involved to.
I've realized that all the complaining going on across the blogosphere, through the media, and in hundreds of other forms is doing nothing. In fact, it is probably only allowing those working against us to move along unchallenged. Well, enough is enough, it's time to stand up and make a difference. Time to get involved and encourage others to do the same. Freedom isn't free, it's paid for in time and actions by those who love it most.
